Led by prominent developers such as Gabriel Btesh, the Republic of Panama has benefited in a variety of senses from the country’s construction boom. Creating thousands of jobs and bringing new life to the property and construction sectors, Gabriel Btesh and others in his industry have helped massively to drive Panama and its economy forward.
Gabriel Btesh goes on to explain that a surge in both interest and investment in the industry has further helped to raise the bar for architectural integrity throughout Panama. Furthermore, in just the last 10 years, Btesh estimates that his company alone has created over 10,000 new construction jobs in the country.
“Working in property development and construction, for me, is as much about building a legacy for current generations as it is about money, success, or personal pride,” explains Btesh, who took over the family construction business from his father, Jack Btesh.
“In addition to supporting my family, it’s about making the country itself more prosperous as a whole,” he adds of his endeavors. A 30 year veteran of the industry, Gabriel Btesh has largely succeeded in his goal, yet he argues that there’s still more to do.
“Building homes for those in need, for example,” says Btesh. “While this is something we’ve done lots of as a company, and something which has been a highlight of my career, we must continue – we must keep going.”
A keen proponent of the advances being made toward increasing standards of living and well-being in Panama, Btesh explains that he had always yearned to do what was right for his country. “I never dared to dream, however, that the business would enjoy such success in this area over the years, or that it would prove to be quite so rewarding,” he adds.
Gabriel Btesh is eager to share the details of a particular project undertaken in Panama City. “We were commissioned, as a company, to work on a series of apartment buildings,” he explains. These homes were to cater to local families and were subsequently designed by Btesh to offer affordable living while simultaneously providing a comfortable and safe environment.
“My immediate focus was on improving the quality of life of prospective tenants,” he explains. In doing so, the developer sourced only modern, high-quality materials for the construction, adding a level of luxury which many would not have anticipated. “What we did was structure, creatively, a luxury living space, but cost-effectively,” Btesh reveals.
Taking things one step further, Btesh personally ensured that the apartment buildings included amenities such as a gym, social areas, and creative spaces. “This,” he adds, wrapping up, “I hope will have served to change the lives of the families who moved into those properties, which is something that I’m incredibly proud of to this day.”
