Pastor Gene Lingerfelt Discusses Grace

“God’s kindness leads…toward repentance.” (Romans 2:4)

God loves you and God has a wonderful plan and purpose for your life.  Jesus paid the price for your sins and because He paid the price that we deserved to pay, you can be forgiven of your sins, born again, and you can have a new life in Christ.  Jesus came so that we might have LIFE, true-life–eternal life in the next life and abundant life in this life (John 10:10).

That may sound too good to be true but that is the grace of God.  It is something that we cannot earn or merit. Jesus paid the price on our behalf.  All you must do is receive God’s free gift of grace and salvation, which you can do by confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in your heart that Jesus was raised from the dead (Romans 10:9-10).  When you do that, you will be born again. You will receive forgiveness for your sins and the grace and mercy of God.

This free gift of grace and salvation is available to everyone.  The Bible is clear that ALL who call upon the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:13), and God wants everyone–every man and every woman–to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4).

Once you receive God’s free gift of grace, you will be a child of God, a son or daughter of God, adopted into the family of God.  Again, you might say, “This sounds too good to be true,” but this is what the grace of God is all about.

We didn’t earn it!

We don’t deserve it!  But this is what God has done for us!

What Jesus did for us is not just about the next life but also this life.  On a regular basis, Pastor Gene Lingerfelt teaches that God has a wonderful plan and purpose for you in this life, in the here and now.  The blessings of God are not just for eternity! God wants you to have an abundant life in this life! Biblical prosperity means total well-being in every area of your life–in your spirit (being born again), in your soul (mind, will, and emotions), in your physical body, in your family and marriage, with your children, and in your finances.

God’s plan for us is more wonderful than any of us could ever imagine!

When you receive the grace of God and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are born again.  You are a new creation. You are a new person, a new creation, in Christ. As the Apostle Paul writes, the old you–the old man or woman–is gone, dead, crucified with Christ.  You are now a new person in Christ and we are to live this life as that new man or woman. And we can do that with the help of God!

When you are forgiven, God separates your sins from you as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12), and God no longer remembers your sins (Hebrews 8:12).  You may still remember them and others may remind you of your past sins, but God no longer remembers them. He literally blows them out! It is as if they never happened!  This is the grace of God.

If you would like to receive God’s grace and the free gift of salvation today, pray this simple prayer:

Father God, I repent of my sins.  I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I believe in my heart that you raised Him from the dead.  Thank you for saving me and welcoming me into your family. In Jesus’ name, amen!

If you pray that prayer, today will be the start of a new beginning, a new life in God.  God’s plan for you is abundant life in this life and eternal life in the next life.
